Johns first gift was for music and his first ambition was to become a lead guitarist in his own band. His cameo in "Almost Famous" set him on the road to acting. His other accomplishment, graduating high school at the age of 15. John has one younger brother and a cute dog named Poe.

- He attended acting school at the Actors Center in Philadelphia.
- Brother of Anthony Amedori.
- He landed his role in Almost Famous (2000) by sending the director a videotape of himself playing the electric guitar. The director liked it so much that he wrote up a part just for John.
- Is good friends with actor Taylor Ball from the TV show, "Still Standing"
