The son of actors Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl, Lorenzo Lamas' first screen appearance was a bit in 1969's 100 Rifles, in which his father co-starred. Originally planning to become a professional race-car driver (he still enters track competitions from time to time), Lamas inaugurated his career as a "heartthrob hunk" in 1979, when he was cast in the short-lived TV weekly California Fever. A brief stint on the prime-time TV serial Secrets of Midland Heights (1980) followed before Lamas graduated to full stardom as Lance Cumston on the nighttime soaper Falcon Crest (1981-1990). Anxious to demonstrate his musical prowess, Lamas signed on as host of the syndicated variety series Dancin' to the Hits in 1986. Perhaps significantly, Lamas has neither danced nor sung in his current project, the weekly adventure series Renegade. Lorenzo Lamas has starred in a plethora of direct-to-video films, and in 1994 both directed and starred in CIA II: Target Alexa. |

- Has six children. With his second wife, Michelle Smith, has Alvaro Joshua (b. December 1983) and Shayne (b. November 1985). With Daphne Ashbrook a daughter Peyton Lee (b. 1988). With Shauna Sand Lamas, Alexandra Lynne (b. 22 November 1997), Victoria (b. 24 April 1999) and Isabella Lorenza (b. 2 February 2001).
- Has a tattoo of a woman riding a unicorn on upper back/shoulder. He has said it is a tribute to two of his father's favorite things (women and horses).

- Volunteer pilot for "Angel Flight", a charitable organization dedicated to providing free air transportation to medical facilities for patients who cannot afford public transportation or cannot tolerate it for medical reasons.
- The song, 'Fools Like Me', which he sang in the film 'Body Rock', made #85 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1984
- In July 2004, he was engaged to Playmate and actress Barbara Ann Moore, although his divorce from Shauna Sand Lamas has not yet been finalized. However, on the eve of the wedding, Lamas called off the wedding due to his disagreement with a wild party that Ms. Moore and her friends threw.
